Have been distracted from doing work since last week. Wasting alot of time doing nothing, lost motivation to study. How to carry on like that?

I’m blogging in school. Decided to pon P.E. today since the weather was perfectly fine to sleep. So off I went on my virgin attempt to skip P.E. by signing in to the sick bay, only to find out it was FULL. The clerk did offer me an alternative, which I took in the end, to sit on the office sofa and rest. Finally a Thursday without having the feel all the body aches in lectures.
NAPHA tests are in less than a week’s time, though I’m going to fail them and enlist into Tekong 5 weeks earlier… Oh well.
Meeting Kenneth later at 6pm to buy Carol’s birthday present from Queensway, so I’m stuck in school now waiting for 6pm to come since Nah decided to pangseh us to watch Hamlet…
Though school sucks big-time, no questions about it, I have managed to find joy in some things. Thank God for those… without them I’ll simply die (further) in school.
I’m starting to love Geog tutorials and lectures because I really like the content. I’ve finally found a subject which I am good at and which I enjoy. Some of you may curse me for liking a subject which (to some) is pure memory work, is boring, only requires common sense and has a VERY bad reputation for sucky teachers BUT Geog is not like that for me. Though my grades do not reflect my inclination towards Geog, it will in time to come when I (start to) study =)
Chem tutorials have been really great for me this year. Mr Wong is indeed a great chem teacher despite his occasional Mount Pinatubo like temper explosions. The amount of knowledge he imparts to us during lessons is invaluable, and the sarcasm and humor that comes with his teachings is almost like oxygen to us. Chem lesson will not be chem lesson without Mr Wong. Though you won’t be able to read this, I deeply respect your hunger for knowledge and your good hearted character.
To those teaching math, econs and GP: You are not that bad (some of you are not bad at all), we all know you put in effort into teaching and lecturing us.
But where’s the connection with the students?
Yes I did, or rather I have decided to create a blog which is more public than my other blog(s). Hopefully I won’t be overly emo lest I start wearing eye-liner, mascara and skinny black jeans to church.
School’s really bummer, especially MONDAYS. Talk about Monday blues. My Monday timetable is screwed really… the subjects suck, the time allocations suck (I have no break from 11am to 5pm) and worse of all, I have CHEM SPA and PE to end the day. Garrrrhhh I HATE MONDAYS!!!
But its ok, I will be thankful for school as Alvin told me last Sunday, and I SHALL BE thankful for Chem SPA and PE. I am more than a conqueror in Christ -chants-!!! Everyone who is working has been telling me to cherish school as they claim work is a hundred times worse. I still cannot comprehend that statement, and I still do very much look forward to working.
Lesson learnt: To all those who are studying for major exams be it PSLE, O levels, A levels etc., please DO NOT mug too hard. Mugging hard is ALRIGHT at the RIGHT TIME, but please do not get stressed over your work in the first quarter of the year. True, consistency is the key to achieving good grades, however overworking yourself and getting too worked up over your studies will do more harm than good to you PLUS the effects are long term.
Remember people, there will always be another exam. Don’t overwork, don’t burnout, don’t become like me.
On a lighter note, I am enjoying cell much more now ever since we have started on IBS. Indeed there is so much more the the Bible than what we always deem as “narratives” or “stories”. I have finally found the motivation to prepare cell stuff and do it willing while enjoying every single bit of it though I have my difficulties. Yes people, for those who do not know, I am dyslexic. But its alright, Lee Kuan Yew is dyslexic, and my dyslexia is pretty mild (though strong enough to deter me from reading my first novel). My grades for GP hover around Cs and Bs, so thankfully it doesn’t put me at that great a disadvantage though Ms ____ Tan always scold me for expression and stupid spelling errors.
Current goal in life: Seek God, play guitar, study hard, excercise, eat and sleep.
I’m off to do the last 2 now.
