NYC

3 things I do most at home – playing guitar, studying and watching CSI NY.

To those who are not familiar with the famous law enforcement drama, the CSI series is about 8 years old, with “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” being the first, followed by CSI Miami and then CSI New York. I’m pretty sure most people would have this notion that all 3 versions are the same, save for the location – that’s what I used to think until I began watching them more frequently.

It all started this year when I started coming home earlier in the afternoon, where I’ll eat lunch at home while watching whatever that’s playing on AXN at that time: various episodes of past CSI seasons. The 3 CSI’s, while bearing the same name are extremely distinct in their styles and the way the main characters of the film cohere with each other.

  • CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, being set in Las Vegas, deals alot along the lines of the casinos, drugs and girls. The show focuses alot on the chemistry that the team has, their feelings for one another, their bond and the conflict that entangles everyone. Lots of heart stopping plots and moments that would literally make you feel you are in the show can be found in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. If you are a big fan of a drama that keeps you in suspense and if you like anxiously waiting for the next episode to come out, this one is for you.
  • CSI Miami, suffice to say, its an action drama more than it is a crime-thriller drama. Most of the series focuses on the main character who usually acts like Rambo. Bruce Willis should be the lead actor instead for this show, since it is 70% action and 30% crime. The series that I dislike the most of the 3.
  • CSI New York, my favorite CSI show is the easiest to grasp simply because the plots are well thought out and yet are not too confusing. The series really zooms into the life of the detectives and their tasks of tracking down the perpetrator, focusing solely on the law enforcement agency and hence is the only out of the 3 which really lives up to its name of being called “Crime Scene Investigation”. I like CSI NY because it satisfies my craving when I watch a crime-thriller drama; and does not beat around the bush like the other 2.
